Gastronomia

A culinária portuguesa, como é visível na quantidade de peixe consumida tradicionalmente. A base da gastronomia mediterrânica, assente na trilogia do pão, vinho e azeite, repete-se em todo o território nacional, acrescentando-se-lhe os produtos hortícolas, como em variadas sopas, e os frutos frescos. A carne e as vísceras, principalmente de porco, compõem também um conjunto de pratos e petiscos regionais, onde sobressaem os presuntos e os enchidos. Com o advento das descobertas marítimas, a culinária portuguesa rapidamente integrou o uso de especiarias, do açúcar, além de outros produtos, como o feijão e a batata, que foram adotados como produtos essenciais. Note-se que a variedade de pratos regionais se verifica mesmo em áreas restritas. Duas cidades vizinhas podem apresentar, sob o mesmo nome, pratos que podem diferir bastante na forma de confecção, ainda que partilhem a mesma receita de base. As generalizações nem sempre estão correctas: as diversas culinárias regionais variam muito na mesma região.

Gastronomy

Portuguese cuisine, as is visible in the amount of fish consumed traditionally. Note that the variety of regional dishes applies even in restricted areas. Two neighboring cities can present, under the same name, plates that may differ markedly in the form of clothing, even sharing the same revenue base. Generalizations are not always correct: the various regional cuisines vary greatly in the same area.

Portugal é internacionalmente conhecido pela sua tradição folclórica, em grande medida assente no Fado . Sendo este o género musical que melhor caracteriza o espírito português e que está directamente relacionado e é consequência da sua história e raízes culturais, tem-se observado uma recente expansão em diversos estilos musicais, como o rock ou o hip-hop.

This being the genre that best characterizes the Portuguese spirit and that is directly related and the result of their history and cultural roots, it has seen a recent expansion in various musical styles, like rock or hip-hop.

Desporto/Sport

O desporto em Portugal é importante na cultura Portuguesa. O futebol é o desporto mais popular de Portugal. Além do futebol, existem muitas outras competições anuais bem organizadas a nível profissional e amador, incluindo campeonatos de badminton, basquetebol.

Sport in Portugal is important in Portuguese culture. Football is the most popular sport in Portugal. In addition to football, there are many other annual competitions well organized professional and amateur level, including badminton championships, basketball.

Teatro/theater 

O Teatro em Portugal teve um desenvolvimento significativo com Gil Vicente, sendo o primeiro autor a utilizar o género dramático.
