Faro é uma cidade portuguesa com cerca de 47 000 habitantes, capital do Distrito de Faro.É sede de um município com 202,57 km² de área e 64 560 habitantes subdividido em 4 freguesias. O município é limitado a norte e oeste pelo município de São Brás de Alportel, a leste por Olhão, a oeste por Loulé e a sul tem costa no Oceano Atlântico.
Através do Aeroporto de Faro, a cidade constitui a segunda maior entrada externa do país (a seguir a Lisboa), o que lhe confere uma valência vincadamente cosmopolita.

It is the sede of a municipality with 202.57 km ² and 64,560 inhabitants divided in 4 parishes. The municipality is bordered to the north and west by the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, east by Olhão, Loulé and the west by the south coast is the Atlantic Ocean.
By Faro Airport, the city is the second largest foreign entry in the country (after Lisbon), which gives it a distinctly cosmopolitan valence.
